AT place

So now we arrived in Norway, we have been very lucky wth the weather so far, haven't rained at all. So today I have had more safety training and meetings. Tonight all our Supervisors will come so it will be fun.

Nice to see Gregory again....

Port side crane and a nice view of the fjord

View on the AHST that tow us in to place,, we had 2 boats towing us at sea but now the weather is so calm we only need one

Frw life boat station and the wheelhouse

I can see land

Yes I can see land.... The helicopter carrying the pilot just landed so we are close now, hopefully we will arrive some time tomorrow...

2 more days then all my 100 workers are comming and we will start this big contract...

Good bye....

Early Morning

Hmm No time to sleep here,,, Have to start work at 6 am every morning,,, not so funny and the guy I am sharing cabin with snoores more then a jer engine,,,,,, But at least last night I had some ear plugs so I sleept a few hours...

Time for a lunch break now..

On our way...

So now all anchors are up and they are connecting all towing wires so we can start to move towards Norway...

There will be 2 or 3 AHST that will pull us in to Land. AHST mean Anchor Handling Supply Tug as you see on the picture below..

You can see 2 of the big anchors that the lifted on to the Supply boat on the picture.

Time to find the gym here onboard..

North Sea

So I am out on the North Sea now on the Rig, we are now taking up the 8 anchors and connecting the Tug boats that will pull the rig to Norway..

It is windy and cold as fuck here...

HeliPort

I am at the Heli Port in Aberdeen , |Scotland now, waiting for my chopper out to the rig.. £ hours in a Helicopter in a survival suite will be,, hmm booring....

Will update when I get out to the field..

Sunday

So that was a weekend in Stavanger,, Yesterday I went out with some friend and had so much fun..... I like this town,, the only problem is that it is to cold and to expensive,, A bottle of Budweiser is 72 Norwegian thats 13 dollars.. Little to much...

HUET

Today we finish our training with the HUET training, HUET stands for Helicopter UNderwater Evacuation Training, It simulates that a helicoper goes down in the sea and the floating rafts on the side that will keep the helicopter upright does not inflate so it turn upside down.

So you go in the simluated helicopter and gets straped down in a seat with a 4 point belt as you are flying in the helicopter. The Chopper is then lowered in the water and turn 180 degrees so you are upside down, when you are upside down under water you need to remove the window and unfsten your seat belt and escape thru the window and swim up to the surface.

FUN FUN....

Stavanger

My attempd to see Stavanger is not working so good, It is raining all the time here so I get to wet to go outside.. But at least I found a good gym to train at..

And as it a zero tolerance for alcohole where I am now I have changed my beeer to a protein shake. Hmm no alcohole for 2,5 months... Damn I am going to be so healthy by christmas

Me at the gym/.....

Swimming in the North Sea

So today we continued the training,

We started out be embarking the different life boats you can find, conventional, sliding and freefall life boat..
Then we had some training where we were practising evacuation thru a reddnings strompe, hmm I wonder what that is called in English, have to check that up..

That wa pretty fun..

After that it was time to put on our survival suits and jump in the water, it was 11 degress (50F) so it was not to bad, we did different exercisies in the water like entering a life raft, swiming in a group, turning a life raft that is upside down and other stuff..

EVen with the suit on it got a little cold after 4-5 hours in the water,, I just can imagen how it is in 4 degree water in full storm at sea...

So now I am back at the hotel,, will go down and eat mussels and Halibut soon for dinner and then get my ass over to SATS to train arms....

See ya later

Evacuation training

So back at the hotel again after this days training, today we had some fire fight training, but as I already have this course I did not have to anteend so I went to another group to have the Emergency Evacuation training, this one is to train the people not to panic in a emergency situation and also not to be clastrufobic.

IT goes like this that you need to wear smoke diver equipment on with air and full mask on... Then they put you in a room, that is suppose to be your cabin, the light is gobe so it is all dark you can not even see your hand infront of you. Then you need to find your way out thru this maze :) Funny

The second part is to evacuate injurd people from a emergency situation, so full smoke diver equipment on and you go in to a office complex using a flash light,,, there are alot of alarms and sirens going on as it is on a rig in a emergency situation, you and your freind need to search thr rooms and find the missing\injurd people and bring them out to safety. This need to be done in a time limit as the rooms are on fire and you only have 10 minutes to get them out before it is to late.

Hmm do I have to say.. my team had the best time :)

And I know why my CPR training went so good, must be Mrs T`s training with me last week.

Now I will go to the gym and then find something to eat in this town'

First Aid

So today wa the first day of training, We started out with a test of the teoretical part that we had to study in internet before and good as I am I had 100% right answers.

The we had First Aid training and we learned how to do CPR, it was fun... Tomorrow we will have fire training and evacuation training from a smoke filled room.

The weayther here is raining and 12 degrees celsius that is 54 F for my American friends, and that is way to cold for me...

Well I will rest now and the go to the gym. or maybe I will sleep still a bit jet laged from the trip.

Cold

I just landed in Stavanger in Norway, I was so tired yesterday when I flew from Miami that I did not think of bringing a big sweather with me. Today when I landed in Norway my bag was not here... So I had to walk around here in a T shirt and it is freezing.... People must have thought I was an idiot walking around in a T shirt.

The god thing is that it will arrive here today with the next plane, so I can go out and have dinner without freezing my as off...

Well tomorrow reality starts again with the Offshor Basic Safty Course... will be lots of fun ....
This course is manadtory if you want to work on a rig. Will be in the water in survival suites, be lifted up in a chopper from the sea and do the H.U.E.T. The HUET is the Helicopter Underwater Evacuation Training. This simulates that a chopper goes down in the sea, so you will be straped down in a chopper and this one will be lowered in the pool and then you have to unstrap yourself and get out, will be fun

Time for food now..

Saturday = Tourist attractions

So yesterday my beautiful cousin arrived in Miami with her friend... As always when you are flying west to east you are ery tires as you been up like 24 hours when you land. So it was a quiet night with a dinner and then a few drinks after on Ocean Drive

Hopefully they have sleept today and we will go and do some of the tourist attractions here in Miami..

Have a nice day :)
